The 2026 Wisconsin Two-Spirit Pow Wow on the Menominee Reservation is a culturally grounded, community–centered gathering created to honor, uplift, and celebrate Two-Spirit people through song, dance, teachings, and intergenerational connection. This pow wow will provide a safe, affirming space where Two-Spirit dancers, singers, elders, youth, and families can participate fully in cultural practices that have historically been denied or restricted. This Two-Spirit Pow Wow is created for all Native Nations, with particular respect for the Nations whose lands are located within boundaries of the place which is now federally recognized as the State of Wisconsin.
Funds raised through this proposal will directly support dancer honoraria, drum groups, cultural leadership, arena operations, and community programming. Unlike many mainstream pow wows, this event intentionally prioritizes equitable compensation for Two-Spirit dancers and singers, ensuring that participation is accessible regardless of financial barriers. Support for this powwow is an investment in cultural survival, healing, and visibility.
